FAQs
-
Is your artwork for sale?
Yes. All available artwork can be purchased here on my website. If you’re interested in one of my available originals, please contact me for pricing. If you’ve seen an original, but it is not here on my website, it may be currently on display in a gallery.
-
Do you accept commission/custom work?
Yes. I do occasionally accept commissions. However, I limit the commissions I accept through out the year so I can focus on Gallery pieces and my main portfolio. Contact me for more info.
-
What is an original?
An original is the actual physical canvas that I paint on by hand. It starts out blank and I add layer after layer of medium to create the image. There is only one of each original and it shows more detail, value and texture than what can be replicated in a reproduction print.
-
What is a print?
Prints are reproductions or copies of originals. Once an original is finished, it is photographed and a digital file is created and sent off to a print shop to be reproduced/printed on various substrates including paper and canvas.
-
What is the difference between paper and canvas prints?
While both are extremely high quality, the canvas is more durable and provides more framing options including a gallery wrap. The paper is a heavy stock satin finish.
-
Where can I find a frame?
All my original pieces come with a frame, but if its not to your liking, a frame can be ordered at any custom frame shop. If you’d like a consultation on picking a frame for a print or a commission, please contact me.

What is your painting process?
My paintings go through many transformations before they get to the finished product. I first start with an image and edit the image to fit the color and composition I am looking for. Then I create an “underpainting” or thin layer of oil color. From there I thicken the paint to match the true colors I am looking for. My paintings can have anywhere between 10-30 layers of colors which I edit and adjust through a drying and glazing method. Watch my videos for more details.

What kind of oil paints and mediums do you use?
I mainly use Gamblin brand for paint and mediums, but I love using Williamsburg paints for their high pigment and fine quality. As far as mediums go, I usually use safflower oil to prevent the yellowing of my whites or galkyd for my glaze.
-
What is a certificate of authenticity?
A certificate of authenticity or CoA is exactly what it sounds like. It is a document or certificate that is signed and guaranteed by a relevant expert or authority certifying that a piece of art is an original, authentic and certified creation of a particular artist and not a reproduction, forgery or fake.
